Painting furniture is almost like therapy for me. It is calming and something that allows me to do some deep thinking while I am creating something beautiful. I’ll admit, though, that it wasn’t always that way. The process of learning how to paint furniture took a lot of time.

How I Learned To Paint Furniture

In the beginning, it was still fun don’t get me wrong, but it was also a lot more work for me than it is now. Researching the various techniques and steps I needed to take to ensure a professional finish was time consuming. And then I had to practice the things I learned and tweak them through trial and error. That season of learning was pretty intense, and there will always be new things to learn. But learning the basics was sometimes painful if I’m being honest.

How YOU Can Learn To Paint Furniture

That’s why I decided to create a tutorial. One that would help people who are like me. People who want to paint something and have it turn out beautiful. People who don’t know where to start and are afraid of messing it up. People who just don’t know what they don’t know! Ha!

As I began to think about what format would be best for the tutorial, I thought about all the hours and hours of time I spent reading blog after blog…and then more blogs to find the information I needed. Some of them had really great photos to go along with their instructions and others, not so much. I am such a visual learner so the photos were necessary for me. And still sometimes the techniques being described just couldn’t be accurately portrayed or shown in just a photo.

Then it occurred to me, we live in this age where we have so much technology available to us! Wouldn’t I have LOVED to have found something that showed me each and every step, in order, what I needed to do to get the finish just right. Something that included all the warnings about what I should make sure to do, and what not to do. Instructions all in one place from beginning to end (that’s just how my brain works and it would have been so nice to have!)

The Tutorial – How To Paint Furniture Like A Pro

Well I didn’t have that. But YOU can! I have created the very thing I wish I could have found when I was first learning to paint. A tutorial, with VIDEOS of me showing you each and every step, complete with warnings and optional steps depending upon the piece you are painting and what color you are painting with. Every step, from beginning to end, all in one place.

AND I took it a step further. What if you had all that available to you, but something didn’t turn out right? You thought you followed all the steps provided, but maybe you missed something or the piece you are painting is being difficult. Wouldn’t you love a real-time answer from the person who gave you the instructions? Me too!!

And so I decided to host this tutorial inside a private Facebook group. What does that mean, you ask? It means that you get all the videos to show you step-by-step what to do. And you ALSO get to watch those videos inside a platform you are likely already using – FACEBOOK!

Why is that significant? Because the private Facebook group allows you to share photos of your piece you’re painting, ask questions at any time and get a response from me and any other group members who happen to be painters as well! It’s like you have your own private furniture painting coach!

ALSO, I thought, wouldn’t it have been nice if I could actually talk to the person who was providing the instruction?! Like really talk to them.

Well, I’m sure by now you have heard of this thing called Facebook Live. But just in case you haven’t, Facebook Live allows you to broadcast a video in real time on Facebook. This means people can view the video as it is being recorded, and you can also make comments on the video when it is live and the person recording the video can see your comments! And THAT means that YOU can ask me your questions LIVE and get an immediate response! (Never fear if you’re not techy at all. If you can use Facebook, you’ve totally got this!)

Boy, what I wouldn’t give to have had access to something like this when I was first learning! I’m so thrilled to be able to offer it to YOU! So that you don’t have to go through the hours and hours of research and the trial and error season to get a fantastic finish on the furniture piece you want to paint!
