I asked my followers if you would like to see my favorites from the new Universal Thread line at Target and you said yes! So below I’m showing you a few things I bought and giving you my thoughts on fit and sizing.

Jeans

Jeans can be so difficult to shop for, am I right? I was delighted when I tried these on and they fit and are super comfortable. I’ll be honest and say that I often make sweat pants my go-to bottom attire simply for the comfort factor. Part of that could be that I’ve gained a little weight and none of my jeans fit me well. If I’m being honest. Ha ha!

I love the amount of distressing on these jeans. And they have the released hem on the bottom for a hip look. These are high-waist straight leg fit. I like the high waist personally for two reasons. One – nobody likes to see booty hanging out the top of my jeans (or anyone else’s for that matter) when sitting or squatting. And two – I have not birthed babies, but as I alluded to above I like to eat and it’s affected the belly area. These jeans come up high enough to tuck the pudge right in. 😉

I am 5’7″ and this is the regular length. They are ALMOST a little on the short side for me, but I want to be able to wear them as you see here with cute sneakers and sandals so I feel like a long length would be too long. The size I’m wearing is a size 10. I would say they fit pretty true to size.

Tees

I LOVE a good v-neck tee. With summer coming I expect I’ll be wearing this one a lot. On the regular, my outfits are pretty basic – jeans and a tshirt (or sweats and a tshirt ;)). I like this one so much I bought it in four different colors.

Every girl needs a classic black tee in her wardrobe. I love the fit of this one. Plus it’s super soft. The front pocket is a fun detail that makes it not so plain jane. I love the length of this tee, long enough to cover the top of your jeans so nothing is hanging out when you bend over, and also flowy enough for the perfect front tuck. I also like that the v-neck is substantial but not so low you feel like one wrong move could have people looking down your shirt.

I’m wearing a large here and I would say this runs true to size. The black and white stripe might be my fav! I also bought it in olive and gray. It doesn’t appear that the gray or the black and white stripe are available online. But they do have a pretty summer red that I will probably go back and purchase to add to the four I already bought. A New Day Skirt

This is not from the Universal Thread line, but it is from another new clothing line Target just added called A New Day. I love this skirt for summer time! It’s perfect for a stroll on the beach, or it can be dressed up with wedges as seen here.

It has the high low cut which is nice and cool for the summer. I have a few maxi skirts that I love, but man oh man do they get hot and sweaty when the temps are really high! This is the perfect mix of maxi skirt with some breathing space! I like that it’s not too short in the front so it still hides all those problem areas for us ladies who don’t have the perfect inner thigh. 😉 And the length in the back is perfect. This is the gray one, but they also have it in black.

I’m wearing the XL so I would say size up one size in this skirt. I tried the L which is what I would normally wear and it was really squeezing me. It is only $19.99 and you can check it out here.

Champion Active Wear

Ok, so this is also not from the new line or a new brand. BUT I was so excited about these shorts I had to share them with you. Can I get an AMEN and a HALLELUJAH for gym shorts that are not super duper short and fitted?!! Why is it so hard to find a decent length gym short? I saw these and immediately snatched up two pair after I tried them on.

I LOVE the length of these. And I love that they don’t fit around my thigh so tight that it makes me appear to have thunder thighs. They have a little bit of a high-low cut which is great. ALSO, they have…POCKETS! On both sides, real pockets!

These are the black ones, and I also bought them in gray. The top is also by Champion and is a breathable v-neck tee. Super comfy. I’m wearing a L in both the shorts and the top. They fit true to size. Shorts are $12.99 and so is the top. The top comes in a few different colors. I bought it in gray and black. Check out the shorts here and the top here.
