I have been using chalk paint almost exclusively to paint furniture for three years. I always gravitate towards chalk paint lines that have lots of colors to choose from because I like to have options. (Kind of like when I am packing for a weekend trip and end up with an oversized suitcase. Totally unnecessary but I need options!) Anywho. These are some of my favorite chalk paint colors.
I’m a loyalist when it comes to using a paint line. When I find something I like, why would I use anything else? That’s the case currently with my chalk paints from Wise Owl. I have yet to work my way through the entire line of colors, but I have a shelf full of colors just waiting to be used to create something special!
I love the colors in the Wise Owl paint line because they are so deeply pigmented. It takes me fewer coats of these deep colors to get great coverage than it would take of other paint lines I’ve used.
Here are the colors I’ve loved so far from Wise Owl.

Prussian Blue

I love this color because it’s the most beautiful shade of teal blue and fits perfectly with my bohemian vibe I’m currently into. If you’ve followed me for long you know I’ve been in the process of transitioning the decor in our entire home to a bohemian look and I just love the bold colors and eclecticness (is that even a word?) of that style. Here is a pair of night stands I painted using Prussian Blue as one of the colors I blended. (Other colors used are Inkwell – more on that below – and Joyful.)

Black Cherry

I’ll admit I was in no hurry to get to this color. (Purple used to be a favorite color of mine, but I outgrew it. Ha!) However, I polled my Facebook followers about what color they thought I should paint a piece I was getting ready to transform. One suggestion was Black Cherry with Petal (a soft blush color.) So I tried it…and I LOVED it! Not the Petal with the Black Cherry (although I’m excited to try Petal on its own eventually). But the Black Cherry I was totally digging.
Since I wasn’t loving the Petal blended with Black Cherry I decided to try blending a totally off the wall choice instead – Prussian Blue. You may recognize the photo below as the dresser I shared with you (including all the finish details) in my previous blog HERE.

The top has a paint wash in Black Cherry and it turned out to look similar to purple heart wood which I think is very cool! See all the photos of this dresser HERE.

Higgins Lake

I had been wanting to do some stripes on a piece and this color came to mind. It’s the prettiest shade of light blue and I’m so excited to use it again at some point! I decided to pair it with Antique Villa, which is so far my favorite shade of white from Wise Owl (yes, there are multiple shades of white.) The resulting chippy stripes (a happy accident with the tape I was using) are just so perfect!

River Rock

I didn’t know what to expect when I pulled this color from the shelf. Gray is what I was kind of going for, a cool gray. I was pleasantly surprised by just how cool this gray is and the beautiful tones of blue that come through. This color reminds me a little of one of my favorite gray colors I have used from the General Finishes line called Queenstown Gray. You won’t be sorry if you pick this one up to try. It complimented the wood tones of this secretary desk perfectly.

Inkwell

This is one of the first colors I tried and I absolutely fell in love. It is the most beautiful deep shade of navy I have ever painted with. Sometimes paint lines carry a “navy” but they will read more of a royal blue or just not quite as deep and dark as I would like. But not Inkwell. It is literally the perfect shade of navy. Here is a night stand painted in Inkwell that sold as soon as I listed it!

Dried Thyme

I was so excited when one of my custom clients chose this color for her china hutch. If you’re looking for a sage green, THIS is the one! (Client photo.)
There are so many more colors from the Wise Owl paint line I want to try…Northern Lights, Joyful, Cypress, Begonia, Abyss, Republic Red.

Which ones do you want to try? Right now I am offering $5 flat rate shipping on all the Wise Owl paint products available on my website for Labor Day when you purchase  at least $30 of product.
